The Albuquerque Police Oversight Commission (POC) is a volunteer board of citizens that reviews cases of police misconduct reported by citizens. Although city employees at the Independent Review Office (IRO) conduct the investigations, they answer to the Police Oversight Commission. The Commission has the power to set rules and procedures for the Independent Review Office. The police chief has sole power to determine discipline imposed on officers.
The Police Oversight Commission meets on the second Thursday of each month in the lower level of City Hall, One Civic Plaza NW.
